Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 4 cinnamon sticks (or 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon)
  • 4 vanilla beans, split and scraped (or 4 teaspoons vanilla extract)
  • 4 teaspoons loose-leaf black tea or 4 black tea bags (optional)
  • Honey or sweetener of choice

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a small pot.
  2. Add cinnamon sticks and vanilla beans; cover and turn off heat. Steep for 10 minutes.
  3. If using black tea, add it now and steep for an additional 3-5 minutes.
  4. Heat milk in another pot until warm but not boiling.
  5. Strain the infused mixture into the warm milk.
  6. Sweeten to taste, stir well, and serve hot or over ice.
