  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1½ cups heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • ÂĽ tsp cayenne pepper
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped
  • Juice of ½ lime
  • ½ cup reserved pasta water

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta in salted water until al dente; reserve half a cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and Cajun seasoning; sear in olive oil until cooked through.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté sliced bell peppers and garlic until softened.
  4. Stir in additional Cajun seasoning and pour in heavy cream; simmer and mix in Parmesan cheese until creamy.
  5. Combine drained pasta with the sauce and protein; add reserved pasta water if needed for consistency.
  6. Garnish with fresh herbs and lime juice before serving.
