Ingredients

  • 2 cups Water
  • 2 Black tea bags or 1 tbsp loose leaf black tea
  • 1 Apple, thinly sliced (or 1/4 cup dried apple)
  • 2 Cinnamon sticks
  • 1/4 tsp Ground nutmeg
  • 1 Star anise pod (optional)
  • Maple syrup (to taste)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil and add sliced apples, cinnamon sticks, ground nutmeg, and star anise. Reduce heat and let simmer for about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add black tea bags or loose leaf tea to the mixture and steep for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Remove tea bags or strain out leaves along with apple slices and spices.
  4. Sweeten with maple syrup as desired before serving.
