  • 2 pounds powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 5 tablespoons Genie’s Dream Premium Meringue Powder
  • 2/3 cup water (plus additional for flood icing)
  • Gel food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl or stand mixer, combine the sifted powdered sugar and meringue powder.
  2. Gradually add water while mixing on low speed until well combined.
  3. Increase the speed to medium-high and whip for about 5 minutes until stiff peaks form.
  4. Divide the icing into bowls if using multiple colors and fold in gel food coloring.
  5. Transfer the icing to piping bags and start decorating your cookies.
  6. Allow decorated cookies to dry at room temperature for at least 12 hours before storing.
