  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup crispy cooked turkey bacon, crumbled
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan (for topping)
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meat Sauce: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Add onions and sauté until soft. Stir in garlic and cook briefly. Mix in marinara sauce, turkey bacon, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for 10 minutes.
  2. Make the Béchamel: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and whisk in flour. Gradually add milk while stirring until thickened. Stir in Parmesan cheese and garlic powder; season to taste.
  3. Assemble: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Layer meat sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Alternate layers of lasagna noodles, béchamel sauce, mozzarella, and cheddar cheese until all ingredients are used. Top with remaining cheeses.
  4. Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly.
