  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • Candy eyeballs and/or mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a glass or metal bowl, beat egg whites on medium-low until frothy (about 30 seconds).
  3. Add cream of tartar and mix until combined.
  4. Gradually add granulated sugar one tablespoon at a time while continuing to beat until stiff peaks form (about 3 minutes).
  5. Gently fold in vanilla extract.
  6. Transfer meringue to a piping bag fitted with a large tip and pipe ghost shapes onto the prepared baking sheets.
  7. Decorate with candy eyeballs and chocolate chips.
  8. Bake for about an hour or until dry and crisp, then cool in the oven with the door closed.
