Ingredients

  • 2 cups of milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1 tablespoon of loose black tea (or 2 tea bags)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 cinnamon stick (or ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon)
  • 1 tablespoon of honey (or preferred sweetener)
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat until warm but not boiling.
  2. Add the loose black tea or tea bags to the warm milk and steep for about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract and add the cinnamon stick or ground cinnamon; simmer on low heat for another minute.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in honey along with ground nutmeg if desired; adjust sweetness to taste.
  5. Pour into mugs, garnish with cinnamon or whipped coconut cream if desired, and enjoy!
