Ingredients

  • 15 oz chocolate fudge cake mix (prepared)
  • ½ cup butter
  • 2 tbsp shortening
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 23 tbsp milk
  • Assorted colored candy melts (white, orange, green, black)
  • Candy eyeballs
  • Candy corn
  • Heart sprinkles
  • Lollipop sticks

Instructions

  1. Bake the cake mix in a 9×13 pan according to package instructions and let it cool completely.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together butter, shortening, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  3. Crumble the cooled cake into fine crumbs and combine with the frosting mixture until moist enough to hold its shape.
  4. Form the mixture into balls using a cookie scoop and place them on a parchment-lined sheet.
  5. Melt some candy melts and dip lollipop stick tips into it before inserting them halfway into each cake ball.
  6. Freeze the cake balls for 30 minutes to firm up before dipping them into melted candy melts for decoration.
