  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 medium onion (finely diced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/3 cup tomato paste
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken stock
  • 1 (15-ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. In a medium pot, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sauté diced onions and minced garlic for 4-5 minutes until soft and translucent.
  2. Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1 minute to enhance its flavor.
