  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 11/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 large apple (peeled, cored, and chopped into small pieces)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8.5 x 4.5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  3. Cream softened butter with granulated sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time until combined.
  5. Gradually mix in dry ingredients with milk until smooth.
  6. In another bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped apples for the swirl.
  7. Layer half of the batter into the pan followed by half of the apple mixture; lightly swirl together.
  8. Repeat layers with remaining batter and apples; top with additional brown sugar and cinnamon mixture.
  9. Bake for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Cool, then drizzle with glaze made from confectioners’ sugar, cinnamon, and water.
