  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk
  • 8 oz. brick-style cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons milk or cream
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan with baking spray and parchment paper.
  2. In one bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and melted butter for the crisp topping.
  3. In another bowl, toss diced apples with light brown sugar and cinnamon for the apple filling.
  4. Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt in a separate bowl. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy; add eggs and milk, mixing until smooth.
  5. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  6. Beat cream cheese with granulated sugar, flour, vanilla extract, and an egg until smooth for the cream cheese filling.
  7. Layer half of the bread batter in the prepared pan, followed by half of the cream cheese filling and half of the apple mixture; repeat layers.
  8. Top with crisp mixture and bake for 60 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool before slicing.
